Searchlight of God Church is located at TICK Hotel Kawempe in Kampala city-Uganda. It is under search Light of God Evangelistic ministry. It was started by Pr. Israel Mutabaganya and his wife Pr. Justine Mutabaganya in May 2008.
In 2002, The Holy spirit pressed this burden upon the heart of pastor Israel Mutabaganya – he often told the committee of elders at Searchlight of God Maganjo that God was leading him to start a ministry in Kawempe which was a stronghold of the Muslim community in Kampala. In February 2009, the leadership of Searchlight of God Maganjo sent a group of young evangelists, to preach the gospel in Kawempe land. They included Mrs. Hope Julie Naluwombwe, Mr.John Byron Wassajja, Mrs. Sharon, Mrs. Mugabi, Brother Splendor, Sister Silvia and Pastor Annabel. The church was latter launched with a ground-breaking crusade that brought together great servants of God like Pastor Israel Mutabaganya, Apostle Alex Mitala, Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Pastor Gerald Mwebe and many others. Searchlight of God Church Kawempe Currently is pastored by Ssali Stephenson who is married to Mrs Tendo Nakachwa and Joseph Mukisa who is not yet married and with a council of elders: Grace Mugabi, Abigail Asiimwe, Sylivia Kwagalakwe, Robert Kiyemba, Joseph Emmanuel Kayemba Vivian kiyimba and Samuel Munyagwa our lead pastor in the Ministry was convicted to begin this ministry in a Muslim dominated area.
